Man Finally Charged with 1986 Brighton Murders

On Friday 2nd February, at the Central Criminal Court before Mr Justice Edis, a hearing took place and an Order was made allowing the publication of the fact that Russell Bishop, 51, has been charged with the murders of Karen Hadaway and Nicola Fellows.

These murders took place at Wild Park, in Brighton, in October 1986. Russell Bishop is now remanded in custody for trial on October 15th at the same court.

Russell Bishop appeared by videolink at the hearing and pleaded not guilty to both counts of murder.

The prosecution was led by Mr Brian Altman QC, with the defence represented by Mr Nicholas Peacock.

The order made at the court prohibits the publication of any other information surrounding the murder case, whether in news media or social media.
