If you think eating vegan means living off carrots and hummus, then this event will surely prove you wrong! On Saturday, the garden of the Brighthelm community centre will turn into a vegan foodie paradise as Earth & Soul Kitchen will be holding Brighton’s very first vegan garden party!

Some of Brighton’s finest vegan chefs including vegan catering service Cactus Kitchen Gals, Brighton’s vegan sandwich shop Larder Deli and plant-powered meals specialist Earth & Soul Kitchen, will prepare a wide variety of exquisite homemade food on the spot. Brighton’s vegan sweet teeth will be catered for by a large variety of cakes and bakes from the Super Doux bakery.

Welcoming seasoned vegans, vegan newbies and everybody who is just curious about vegan diet and lifestyle, the event aims to celebrate and promote small local businesses and a cruelty-free lifestyle.

“All our traders are members of the surrounding community and most of the businesses are run from home. I wanted this to be an opportunity to showcase the latest talent in the city and give smaller businesses a chance to show off their wares”, organiser Roxy from Earth & Soul Kitchen explains her intentions behind Brighton’s first ever vegan garden party.

Apart from the food stalls, there will also be cruelty-free skincare products, hand-embroidered jackets made by Mad Ram Clothing and local artworks. Throughout the afternoon, people will get the chance to discover and develop their circus skills in a workshop and watch Sophi Bubble create and transform all sorts of giant bubbles while enjoying some live performances of local musicians.

“The theme is summer fete/garden party with a focus on community spirit. This is the first ever event we have put on like this, and if it’s a success, we’d love to host many more in the future”, Roxy says.

Brighton’s first vegan garden party will take place this Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm at the Brighthelm Centre, North Road, Brighton. Entry is free.
