With the Royal Wedding fast approaching, Harry and Meghan are up there with the most talked about names in Britain – but what about those of common blood who share the name? You’re in luck this weekend!
If you’re called Harry or Meghan, you too can feel royal for the day with free entrance to Brighton’s Royal Pavillion on Saturday 19th May, aka Royal Wedding Day. Simply turn up with any form of ID that states your name, and entrance to the pavilion will be entirely free of charge, so go forth and enjoy the exotic palace once inhabited by King George IV! Don’t worry if you don’t share spellings with the Royal couple – any versions of the name are accepted.
Alan Robin, who chairs the Pavilion’s Economic Development and Culture Committee has said that “Whether you’re called Meghan or Harry with whatever spelling you prefer, you’ll be treated as a Prince or a Princess on the day.”
The Royal Pavilion isn’t the only option for Brighton’s Harry and Meghans this weekend – the i360 are also offering a free trip to all of those who share the same! Again, simply show up with your proof – however, you must be with someone else, with a more lowly name, who’s paying for the ride.
If you’re more into thrill seeking this one is for you – Thorpe Park are also offering free entry to all Harry and Meghans over the entire weekend. Again, just your ID is needed as proof – but the theme park are being a little stricter and asking for exact spellings only.
Not lucky enough to share a royal name? Never fear, there’s plenty of royal festivities on over the weekend regardless – check out our post on Brighton’s offerings here!
