A charity Christmas song aims to raise £10,000 for sick children in Sussex this Christmas.

Written, performed and filmed by Brighton and Hove businesses, the song, ‘Santa Stop Here’, was released on November 24 and has so far raised £6,000. for Rockinghorse – the fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.

But another £4,000 is needed to hit the £10,000 target by Christmas Day, and those behind the charity song are urging people to watch the video and donate.
Katie Gibson of Hove-based Pier Recruitment, who came up with the idea for the song, said: “The YouTube video has had nearly 3,000 views and people keep watching but not donating. Only £2 would make a difference!”

The song officially launched in November at the Grand Hotel, where £1,285 was raised, adding to the £4,000 already raised by businesses singing on the track. Now in a last push to raise cash, Katie Gibson and her team at Pier Recruitment have urged people to watch the video, and donate what they can to the cause.

The reason behind the song’s title ‘Santa Stop Here’, came about after a visit by Pier Recruitment to the Royal Alexandra. They learned that sometimes children staying in hospital worry that Santa won’t know where they are when he visits, which was the inspiration behind the song.
Lots of local businesses are behind the idea, and are featured on the track, including The Focus Group, Posh Totty Designs, Zsta Architects, Mercedes, Quality Care Insurance, Domestic and General, Cobb Digital, Holiday Taxis, Neilson Holidays and children from Bird Studios/BRICTT.
Recording took place at North Brighton Recording, filmed by Soren Pople managing director of Huga Digital Marketing.
