Shoreham’s Crown & Anchor pub will host a night of comedy for both singletons and couples on Valentine’s Day. The LOL Comedy Cub introduces their unique Valentine’s Day Comedy Massacre on February 14th, which includes a stint from the comedian who played Tinky Winky in BBC’s hit TV show Teletubbies.
Side-splitting humour hits Sussex in the form of stand-ups Stephen Carlin, Martin ‘HurlyBurly’ Huxter, Dave ‘Tinky Winky’ Thompson and Rebekka Turner. All the men are sporting a moustache so it should be easy to spot Hove-based Turner.
Since his debut as a teletubby, Thompson has appeared in the 2000 Ben Elton film Maybe Baby, and Harry Hill’s live tour Hooves in various minor roles; he also made appearances in each night of Hill’s Hooves tour.
The headline act is Scottish-born Carlin, travelling to the south coast from London. Thanks to his pedantic humour and off-beat style he appeared in the first two seasons of Comedy Central’s The Alternative Comedy Experience.
Huxter, who resembled a young looking version of the singer Morrissey when he lived in Crawley but looks very different since he escaped to Brighton, has tickled the ribs of audiences both in the UK and the United States.
The compére will be Love Doctor Monti, a distant relative of the late, great comedy legend Tommy Cooper.
Tickets are available here at £8.50 each, or £15 for a pair. Alternatively call the box office at 01273 463500.
For those couples aiming to make it a memorable night there is a special romantic 2-course meal and a ticket for LOL Comedy Club available at £25 each.
