As we all know Brighton Fringe 2018 is sadly over for another year, but in one last little spurt of excitement the winners of the festival’s awards have now been announced!
Naturally, with a plethora of shows comes a plethora of different awards to be won, all celebrating the uniqueness, diversity and variety of the Brighton Fringe. All the winners were announced at Sunday’s award ceremony, where brightest and best of the Fringe congregated to celebrate another year.
Awards included the Audience Choice Award for Best Event, which was taken home by ‘Love Letters to Rappers’, which was described as ‘politically and sexually active young women doing whatever the f*ck they want in 2018.’ Junkyard Dogs picked up the second Audience Choice Award, this time for Best Venue. The enormous list of all of the 2018 award winners can be viewed on the Fringe website.
Also, the Fringe may be over, but there is still one more opportunity for this year to see all the award winners together at ‘A Midsummers Night Fringe’. The summer showcase gala will be held on 3rd July at the Brighton Open Air Theatre. Expect an extravagant night as organisers cram an entire month’s worth of excitement into one evening. Attendees can look forward to a host of acts including Alfie Ordinary, Marta Scott Dance Company, alongside the Brighton Fringe 2018 Award Winners and many more!
The evening is put on to raise money for the charity behind England’s largest open access festival. To learn more, or buy tickets please see their website.
