It’s so easy to get stuck in our routines of going to the same places and not branching out. But did you know there’s so much to do in your local community? Here are some things and places which are encouraging positive community living.
Kemptown Community Market is your local market held at St Mary’s Church on St James’s Street. They are usually held once or twice every month.
Kemptown Gardening Club and Community Group is a collection of three roads (Bennett Road, Princes Terrace and Bristol Street) who take great pride in their front gardens. A few years ago they won first prize in Brightons Bloom. The residents who live at the 151 homes fundraise to have hanging baskets on the lampshades each year. If you live on these roads and don’t know about this group who meet every couple of months you should get involved!
St Georges Church in Kemptown often has events and things going on. It is a community centre/cafe and hub. This Friday they will be host to Brighton Sewing Bee’s 3rd birthday party! For more information click here.
At The Coach House is a space where people can learn new skills by attending events and workshops! They currently offer a variety of classes from. urban beekeeping to vegan cookery classes to a take better photos workshop. For more information visit their website here.
The Kemptown Society includes residents of the Estate and wider community who want to preserve its listing as one of the leading residential Regency conservation areas in the UK. Their goal is to make the site a nationally important architectural Heritage site.
