One of Brighton’s most iconic landmarks has made the top three most unusual venues in the UK.
Brighton Dome took bronze in the ‘best unusual UK venue’ at the well-renowned M&IT Industry Awards on 3 March. It was tipped to the post by Coombe Abbey Hotel and Alton Towers Resort, but triumphed over three other finalists. The glittering ceremony at Battersea Evolution was hosted by revered broadcaster Eamonn Holmes.
Speaking after the award ceremony, Helen Rouncivell, Conference & Event Sales Manager for the dome, commented: “We are beyond delighted to be recognised at the M&IT Industry Awards, especially this year as the Awards celebrate their 30th anniversary.
“We strive to make our conference facilities second to none, while offering a unique Brighton flair as befits our beautiful venue. To have received such an award as a result of votes from our clients and contemporaries is a real honour.”
And things can only get better for the dome; it’s undergoing major refurbishment over the next 18 months. Brighton Dome Concert Hall will remain untouched and available for hire throughout the re-development project and beyond, with a maximum capacity of 1,700.
