Students at Sussex or Brighton university are among the most satisfied in the nation, according to a new survey conducted by the accommodation provider Sodexo.
London by the sea took second place in its list, which revealed the nine happiest student towns.
The only place to pit Brighton to the post was Belfast, while Coventry and Wolverhampton took third and fourth place. Swansea, Aberystwyth, Birmingham and Bristol also made the top nine list.
The rankings were based on the opinions of thousands of students, who were asked to rate a range of lifestyle factors including educational standards, stress levels, takeaway options, and nightlife. Brighton-based students gave the city an impressive 93% happiness rating.
It’s easy to see why students love Brighton so much – with the picturesque South Downs on our doorstep, a unique seafront, and some of the best nightspots on the south coast, it’s a haven for teens and twentysomethings.
Surprisingly, world-famous Oxford was named as the most miserable UK student city – tough luck!
