How long have you been a Brighton resident?

“I’ve been coming to college here for two years, and I love it. I’m from a town nearby and it’s really not the same. I love it here it’s just so different and nice.

“I go to Met college just down the road, studying Fine Art in a foundation year”

What do you think attracts so many art students to Brighton?

“They have brilliant degree courses at the university, that are very specialised, which I think attracts people”

What type of art do you specialize in, and are you hoping to make a career out of it?

“Fine art painting, the least employable one! I love painting … I’m hoping so, I’ve kind of put all my eggs in one basket!”

What do you like about Brighton?

“The people and there’s all sorts of different corners and things that you find. Every time I come I find something new, and the people are so friendly.”

Do you have any favourite spots?

“In the summer the level is nice, near where the fountain is and everyone runs through the fountain, it’s really nice there. There’s so many cafes in the lanes … they’re great.

“Pelicano is really nice, they do great cake.”

What advice would you give someone approaching the city for the first time?

“It’s super easy because it’s so friendly here. Maybe bring money, a lot of money, because a cider is more expensive than you think it’s going to be.
