Murder Investigation Launched After Police Two Bodies at Birling Gap
Police have launched a murder investigation after finding two children’s bodies and that of a man at Birling Gap. A woman’s body was also found at her home in Twickenham.
The two young boys that were found deceased were aged seven and ten. The man found deceased was 57 years old. Their bodies were discovered at around 5pm yesterday, at Birling Gap seafront, near Eastbourne.
The search was launched by police after a 47-year-old woman was found dead earlier, with stab injuries, at her home in South Road, Twickenham.
After the woman was found, detectives began searching for her missing husband and children. Police believe the deceased man and children to be the woman’s immediate family.
A car was also discovered nearby by Sussex Police. Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Homicide and Major Crime Command are leading the investigation, supported by colleagues in Sussex Police.
Post-mortem examinations and formal identifications of all four individuals will take place in due course. The victim’s next of kin have been informed. No arrests have yet been made and police enquiries continue.
At this early stage in the investigation, police are not searching for any suspects.
