Vince Staples – Big Fish Theory
Released on Friday 23rd June, Vince Staples returned with his second full length album. Featuring 12 songs, his latest release was met with critical acclaim and praise across the board. A strong hip hop sound with a current twist, this album is definitely one to add to your playlist over summer.
Imagine Dragons – Evolve
Another Friday release, the American rock band came out with their third studio album, Evolve. Showcasing much of a similar sound to their previous work, the album has put a slightly more poppy twist on things which can especially be seen on single, ‘Thunder’.
DJ Khaled – Grateful
Snapchat sensation, DJ Khaled released his tenth studio album, Grateful. Featuring several famous artists such as Rihanna, Bryson Tiller, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj, this album definitely delivers on the fame factor. The album, with cover art featuring baby Asahd, has 22 tracks all of which are what you’d expect from Mr Major Key…
WizKid – Naughty Ride
Nigerian musician, WizKid might be best known for his recent work with Drake on afrobeat-infused single, ‘One Dance’. Now he’s back and collaborating with the iconic electronic trio, Major Lazer. At only 26, the afropop/dance hall/reggae inspired singer has already had a bountiful career, being named in Forbes’ Top 10 Richest African Artists. This single is full of the smooth vocals and summer vibes you’d expect.
Drake – Signs
On June 24th Drake returned with a collaboration between him and French fashion house, Louis Vuitton. With much the same vibe as his most recent releases, Signs is definitely a nice bop, but not necessarily anything to write home about.
