Stargazers in the US witnessed a total solar eclipse yesterday, the last one took place in 1999.
This means the moon would completely cover the sun for a few moments blocking its rays.
Viewers in Kentucky witnessed this phenomenon for approximately 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
Although the UK did not get the complete experience they were able to witness a partial solar eclipse at around 8pm last night.
This meant it would look like the sun had little nibbles taken out of it! Those in the South West, Wales and Shetland had the best view.
