Pass Rate Dips For GCSE Results

Today the results of half a million pupils GCSE results come out. Overall the pass rate has dropped over a range of subjects due to new tougher exams.

Passes of a C grade and above dropped to 66.3% in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Exam boards have said that the results this year are similar to last years, despite complaints made by students and teachers saying there have been a lack of practice papers and textbooks.

There has been a change to a new numerical grading system in England.
