Police seek driver after hit and run collision in Peacehaven

Police are looking for the driver of a car which failed to stop after hitting a teenage girl in Peacehaven. The collision occurred just after 6:30pm on Friday 26th January, on South Coast Road, Peacehaven, at the junction with Downland Avenue.

The 17 year old girl sustained a leg injury, for which she was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. She was discharged on the same evening.

PC Becky Knight, part of the Sussex Road Policing Unit at Polegate said; “We have no description of the car or driver at this time.

“Anyone who saw what happened or who knows who the driver may be, is asked to contact us online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1175 of 26/01.”

Brighton and Hove police tweeted: “Can you help us find the driver of car that drove off after colliding with teenager in South Coast Road, Peachehaven?”

Police have also dealt with a house fire in Brighton over the weekend.
