Police Trace Suspected Bike Thieves from Brighton to Surrey

Three people were arrested in Surrey on suspicion of theft after a bike was stolen from Preston Park, Brighton.

On Thursday 25th January at 9:15pm the bike was placed in a van on Stanford Avenue, near Preston Park. The thieves then drove towards London on the A23 road.

The vehicle was followed by officers and finally pulled over in Mitcham, Surrey.

2 men, of 24 years old and 51 years old, and a boy of 15 years old. They have been released under investigation.

Paul Ransome, an inspector said: “We are continuing to target bike thieves with Operation Ensnare. Even though these suspected thieves left Sussex, we were still able to pursue them and arrest them.”
