Students at the University of Sussex are celebrating after their TV Station has been nominated for a top film award.
Seagull Man: The Brighton Superhero – a mockumentary about an unlikely superhero – has been nominated for best comedy at the Screentest Student Film Festival.
The short film was made by the team at UniTV , University of Sussex.
Seb Cox who wrote, edited and co-directed the movie alongside Cameron Faulkner has also been nominated for 3 further awards: Best Film, Best Drama and Best Music Video.
His film Harry Bot 9000 tells the story of a young man who develops depersonalization disorder after a traumatic event in his past leaving him in a robot-like state.
The film is nominated for Best Film and Best Drama.
His unofficial music video for Of Monsters and Men track Mountain Sound has been nominated for Best Music Video (Animation).
Winners of the 12th Screentest Film Festiva will be announced on 11 march during a ceremony at Greenwich University.
Director and third-year physics student Seb Cox said: “I feel truly honored with the nominations and proud for all the teams that worked on the productions.
“Each film was a passion project of their own, so it is exciting to see them be so highly regarded by the UK’s National student film festival.”
