The chief executive of Brighton and Hove Albion’s ‘Albion in the Community’ programme Gary Townsend has passed away, aged 43. He collapsed during a run while on holiday with his partner in Spain.

Physical activity festival TAKEPART 2016 offers the people of Brighton and Hove the chance to stay fit and healthy with their friends and family and will be ongoing throughout the remainder of this month and until 10th July. You can read more about it in our festival season preview.

Brighton defender Lewis Dunk, already subject to much transfer speculation, has now reportedly been sounded out by Premier League champions Leicester City with a view to a £7m deal.

And finally, Brighton found out their full fixture list for the 2016/17 Championship campaign today. The Seagulls will travel to Derby County for their opening game, while the first game at the Amex will be against Nottingham Forest. Furthermore, Albion will end their season with a potentially tricky trip to Villa Park to play bounceback promotion hopefuls Aston Villa.
