From now on, if someone asks you who the mayor is, there is a new name you will have to remember: Mo Marsh. It was only yesterday that the former Labour councilor for Moulsecoomb and Bevendean officially got elected at the annual meeting of Brighton and Hove Council.
Officially starting on Monday, the new mayor has an exciting weekend before her, celebrating her 70th anniversary. Mo Marsh will serve as a mayor for Brighton and Hove until next May.
She has taken over the reigns from outgoing mayor Pete West who has set the bar very high for her, having raised no less than £94,000 for charity during his year in office and set a new record.
