Albion to Sign South African Player of the Year & Smash a Transfer Record

Albion to Sign South African Player of the Year & Smash a Transfer Record

Albion really are having a busy summer. The club have made a string of high-profile signings, in a bid to solidify their Premier League position. Albion have brought in a new keeper, defenders, and midfielders. Where they have often lacked depth and quality, however, is their attack.

Chris Hughton is now looking to set this right. Florin Andone and Jürgen Locadia have already been brought in to bolster the sides attack. They won’t be stopping there though.

Percy Tau is an exciting prospect, lighting up South Africa’s Premier Soccer League. He was last seasons Player of the Season, delivering an exceptional return of 13 goals and 13 assists for his Mamelodi Sundowns side.

The 24-year-old’s brilliant form meant that it would not be long before a bigger club took notice. Albion are now looking to be that club, with a move set to go ahead according to Sky Sports.

The player will attract an offer of just under £3 million. While not a substantial fee for a Premier League side, this would smash South Africa’s domestic transfer record.

Tau would be a perfect fit for Hughton’s side. He has an eye for goal, but is also selfless. His blistering pace and wonderful technical ability would see him integrate himself seamlessly into Albion’s counter-attacking style of play. 2018/19 really is shaping up to be an exciting season!
