Brighton Bus Fare To Rise Again

Brighton Bus Fare To Rise Again
Hannah Midgley

As of the next week Brighton and Hove bus fares will be increasing once again to tackle delays. City centre fares now at £2 will be rising to £2.20. But no fear users of the mobile ticket app centre fare singles will continue at a rate of £2.

Changes on some of the out-of-city fares, network savers and longer term city savers will be happening. All mobile and key card tickets of between one day and a weekly city savers tickets will stay the same price, as well as pay monthly tickets on the key card and Duo, Quattro and Family m-tickets
70% of some fares will be frozen, including cash fares such as young persons savers, special single fares, short hops, £2.50 city wide single and one day city savers, as well as network savers.

Brighton and Hove bus company have blamed growing congestion for ticket price reviews and suggest passengers to buy tickets in advance to prevent delays on journeys. They hope the 1.5 per cent increase will improve bus operators to maintain the number of bus services which are effected by delays.
