With the small matter of legendary pop icon Britney Spears set to headline Brighton and Hove Pride this Saturday, we thought we’d look up the other amazing musical events occurring this week in our city. Covering a variety of genres, music fans will not be disappointed!

Monday 30: Club Del Rio @ Rialto Theatre

This Monday evening, Spanish seven piece folk/rock/world/pop band, Club Del Rio, make their British musical debut at the Rialto Theatre in Brighton! Consisting of 3 lead vocalists, guitars and full of percussion, this band will guarantee a performance full of energy! Also joining them will be the equally impressive Brighton based alternative folk musician, Ellie Ford, who fronts a five piece modern and orchestral folk band.

Tuesday 31: Baby Shakes @ The Prince Albert

Come and see American Rock n’ Roll-punk band Baby Shakes in action this Tuesday at the Prince Albert! This four-piece power pop/punk quartet from New York City, reference their influences as ranging from the Ramones and Slade, to Chuck Berry and 60s Mowtown girl groups!

Wednesday 1: Gordie Mackeeman and His Rhythm Boys @ Ropetackle Arts Centre

See a great live band this Wednesday at Ropetackle Art Centre! Gordie Mackeemann and His Rhythm Boys are a multi-instrumentalist band impossible not to move your limbs to! Support comes from The Purple Shoes Duo, who are a quirky and upbeat Country/Rock/Americana duo from the south coast of England and will also have you dancing in no time!

Thursday 2: Chantel McGregor @ Komedia Brighton

This Thursday is your chance to see multi-award winning guitarist and vocalist Chantel McGregor perform live in Brighton! A product of Leeds College of Music, this British Blues singer-songwriter has gone on to develop a successful music career, winning multiple awards. You are truly in for a treat with this acclaimed acoustic blues-rock guitarist!

Friday 3: Sam Outlaw, Molly Parden @ The Haunt

This Friday, successful southern Californian Country singer-songwriter Sam Outlaw, will be performing at the Haunt! Influenced by artists such as Emmylou Harris and George Jones, Outlaw remains one of LA’s only modern country singers to earn international acclaim! Talented Nashville Neo-Folk Artist Molly Parden will also be opening the show.

Saturday 4: J-Felix and Wild Fantasy @ The Tempest Inn

Highly praised Bristol born and Brighton based music artist, J-Felix, takes to the stage this Saturday – at the Tempest Inn! The Producer, multi-instrumentalist and smooth vocalist, aka Joe Newman, previously DJ’d at Glastonbury. Covering the genres Hip-Hop, classic funk, disco grooves and house, his sound is reminiscent to the late 70s/early 80s. With DJ duo Wild Fantasy also performing, fans can look forward to a great evening!
