Free Music Workshops for Young People with Professional Artists

Free Music Workshops for Young People with Professional Artists
Hannah Midgley

Are you a young person looking for a way of expressing yourself? Do you love playing music but have no one to play with? Do you have a budding musician at home that needs a little bit of guidance, and and sprinkling of confidence, to give them the push they need?

AudioActive is a ground-breaking music organisation, working with young people, at the meeting point of technology and contemporary urban culture. “For us, music is an end in itself as well as a tool for social change, education and personal development.”

Sessions is an open access skills development, performance and master class programme. Whether you’re an aspiring young musician wanting to get into music production or an emerging artist looking to get some professional mentorship or industry support there’s something for you at Sessions.

Music Production, Rap & Lyric Writing, Band & Live Production workshops and song writing skills run weekly delivered by professional artist practitioners with industry experience. Sessions runs in a range of locations across Brighton, Hove, Fishersgate and Eastbourne. Participants can also plug in to regular performance opportunities from low-key open mic events to high profile gigs.

“It would be hard to find a better example of arts for young people than this.” Jackie Wills – Poet & T.S Elliot Award Nominee

“AudioActive are doing something to ensure that regardless of wealth or background, young people get a chance to be creative. I can’t support that enough. Big love. Its about confidence and inclusiveness. People can feel they’re part of something without being judged. It’s a daunting thing for everyone to sing and play and instrument for the first time. It’s important to be encouraged”” Rag’n’Bone Man – AudioActive Patron
