Friday Feeling: Theatre in Brighton!
So we often hear about theatre and shows that are currently on or are coming to Brighton. We here at Brighton journal love this form of entertainment and think having something to look forward to is one of the best things in life. So lets get into that Friday feeling and get excited for something. Below I will list some things which are currently showing or things you can see in the future…
This show opened Wednesday night and is running until the 3rd of September at The Brighton Centre. The classic tale of a daughter with 3 possible dads is not to be missed. Dreamboats and Petticoats
For their 10th anniversary tour, Dreamboats and Petticoats will return to Theatre Royal, Brighton from the 2nd to the 7th of October. The musical is set in 1961 and is about a national songwriting competition and of course features a love story. If you’d like to purchase tickets click here.
On Saturday the 30th of September this new youth theatre group will present their story about highway robbers who fell in love. Based in the 18th century and is suitable for ages 8 and older! Check this out at the Sweet Duke Box on 3 Waterloo Street in Hove.
Driving Miss Daisy
This show will be at Theatre Royal, Brighton from Monday the 18th to Saturday the 23rd of September. The show is about an elderly widow Daisy, who crashes her car in 1948 her son hires an African American chauffeur named Hoke Colburn. The relationship is rocky at first and the play addresses prejudice and inequality but as time goes on it blossoms into a life altering friendship. You can buy tickets for the comedy drama here.
