“I wanna promote that difference is beautiful” – Humans of Brighton : Meet Tanisha
This week, the Brighton Journal bumped into Tanisha, who was making her way down Regeant Street to a business networking event.
Whats the event that you’re going to?
“It’s going to be about learning about branding and business identity and marketing and things like that. The business I’m hoping to set up is going to be an ecommerce store, which means there’s no physical shop, everything is done online.”
“I want the products to be inclusive of everyone, sizes, ages, ethnicity, all of that.”
Tell me a bit more about it?
“It’s gonna be a clothing and jewelry store. Basically, I want for everyone to find stuff that makes them feel FAB and cost-effective. I’m not gonna have a separate area for ‘plus size’ and I guess ‘normal’? Don’t think it sends a good message to be honest, so it’s all gonna be in the same area!”
“I think it’s important to be inclusive because there are so many body types, skin colours, styles, height, etc and only like 3% is shown in the media. I guess I wanna promote that difference is beautiful, we don’t need to look the same as each other to be pretty”
