Humans of Brighton – Meet Kevin The Multilingual

Humans of Brighton – Meet Kevin The Multilingual
Hannah Midgley

Hello Kevin, nice to meet you. Where are you from? Hello, nice to meet you too. I come from a small village called Niederlauterbach in France next to the German border.

Why are you here in Brighton? I’m here for an internship in a luxury travel agency for scuba diving, windsurfing and kitesurfing.

That sounds very interesting! What are your tasks at your work placement? Yes, I really like my job and my colleagues. Currently, I’m responsible for the social media and administrate both Facebook and Twitter for the company.

Do you also like traveling? Yes. There are so many beautiful places in the world and if I have the chance I would like to visit them all! One day I want to go to South America. Some of my family members have already visited and they’ve shown me really beautiful photos from there. There are so many interesting countries I would like to visit.

What do you love about Brighton? There are many lovely things in Brighton but I think I like the nightlife and the seafront the most. The people are very open-minded and kind. I also like the architecture in the city centre especially the Royal Pavilion.

What has been the most special moment since you arrived here? I think my first contact with my new friends has been the best moment until now. It was my first time in the Pub King and Queens where I meet all my new friends friends.

What are your plans for the future? I want to learn a fourth language. Currently, I speak  French, German and English but I also want to learn Spanish. I think it’s very important to know many languages and these 4 languages are the most used in international conversations. In October I will start to study French and German management and afterwards I would like to work in a marketing company.

Thank you, Kevin, for this lovely interview. I hope that all your dreams come true. Enjoy the rest of your time in Brighton!
