The 10 most Instagrammable places in Brighton

The 10 most Instagrammable places in Brighton
Georgia Brown

This beloved seaside city is thriving with creative people, great food spots and a vibrant nightlife. Perfect for the curious day-tripper, and home to many inspiring individuals, Brighton is an Instagrammer’s fantasy. Brighton Journal have curated a list of all the most beautiful, colourful, quirky and Instagrammable places in the city to get your perfect ‘gram.

The city is full to the brim of street art, historical architecture, and rows of candy-coloured houses. The shingle beach might not be a tropical paradise, but it is the perfect spot for some of the most glorious sunsets. Whether you know Brighton like the back of your hand, or you have only seen it in postcards, it cannot be argued that the city is home to some of the most spectacular spots for the keen photographer.

1. Royal Pavilion

Arguably Brighton’s most historic and iconic landmark, the beautiful domes and Indian inspired architecture provide the setting for an ultimate photo opportunity. Surrounded by Pavilion Gardens, you can sit a soak in the sunshine and views all summer, or ice skate round the Pavilion rink in winter months.

2. West Pier

Today, only the sculptural remains of West Pier are left standing in the sea after it burnt down in 2003. It’s metal skeleton is an eerie addition to Brighton’s seafront, but provides a beautiful silhouette against the backdrop of sunsets and cotton-candy skies. The featured work in this shot was created by local artist Lois O’Hara¬† – read Brighton Journal’s interview with her to find out more about her colourful work.

3. Blaker Street

Brighton’s most colourful street, Blaker St. is every Instagrammer’s dream. An entire road of rainbow coloured houses, this street envelops Brighton’s true sense of Pride.

4. Street Art

It would be wrong of us to suggest just one street in Brighton where you can find some of the most inspiring graffiti and street art. In almost every street, on every electrical box, lamp post, and free wall in the city there is some form of creativity. Some is more obvious than others – take your pick!

5. Brighton Palace Pier

Easily the city’s most exciting location, Palace Pier is a symbol of our iconic seaside town. Grab yourself some hot donuts, a bag of freshly fried fish and chips and stroll down to the amusement arcade. As the promenade stretches out to the sea, the backdrop of the Pier’s famous helter skelter makes for the ideal snap. Just remember to watch out for the seagulls, they aren’t afraid to steal your food!

6. North Laine

The Lanes of Brighton are a shoppers paradise, full of independent, boutique and vintage shops that put the city on the map. When asked, many Brightonian’s say the Lanes are their favourite part of the city. With endless coffee shops, brunch spots and bars its easy to see why.

7. Brighton Bandstand

Now that’s an Instagrammable seafront bandstand if there ever was one. Just a short walk from the i360, the Bandstand is often flooded with photographers and newlyweds posing for their romantic memoirs. However, when it is quiet, this location in the city is the perfect sunset viewing point. The ornate detail of the structure makes for a beautiful photograph.

8. Hove Lawn Beach Huts

Brighten up any rainy day by strolling along Hove Lawn beach huts. This most colourful part of the seaside has been around since the 1930s when they were first built. In warmer weather, the promenade is full of dog walkers, roller skaters and strollers whilst the opposite lawn is the ideal picnic location.
