The new Influence event, taking place on the 9th of May, will be all about gut health, from how it affects our well-being to top tips on how to keep healthy with a busy lifestyle.

Supercharge Your Health from the Inside Out, hosted by Bec Milligan, will give you the opportunity to learn about how your digestion can affect most aspect of our lives, including our mood, skin, energy levels and the way we respond to stress.

Bec Milligan is a fully qualified, BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) Nutritional Therapist, a yoga teacher and a mother.

She not only works with individuals, but also companies and in groups. She is a strong believer in the fact that there is no magic formula to improve our well-being overnight, and the way she works clearly emphasises this.

Bec works holistically, meaning that she carefully studies her patients’ full medical history in order to provide them with a tailored plan, which will be adapted accordingly as the patients’ health priorities begin to shift.

Bec is also aware of the struggles of keeping healthy when leading a busy life. She has a background as a television executive and channel commissioner, and she still works as a creative consultant for a variety of television companies.

The event will take place from 6PM at The Projects, on Ship Street, and will last one hour. During the event you can expect to learn how bad gut health affects our well-being, tips to improve our wellness and the best foods for the gut. There will also be delicious food to snack on and healthy recipes to take home.

Tickets cost £6 and can be purchased on the Eventbrite website.

  1. When it comes to the struggle of keeping healthy when busy, it is important to seize the moment when you can. Whilst you may not know how your day will unfold, you have the opportunity in that small time-frame between getting up and leaving home to get a bowl of porridge, made with whole milk, topped with blueberries, banana and honey inside you. From there you have the foundation on which to build.
