Man Suspected of Brighton Assaults Wanted For Recall to Prison
Sussex Police in Horsham and Brighton are searching for a man who is wanted for recall to prison, and who is also suspected of being involved in a series of assaults that occurred in Brighton city centre at the end of June.
19 year-old Joshua Rutigliano, who Police state, “has lived at addresses in Horsham but also frequently visits Brighton and Hove”, was released from Rochester Prison on 28 March after serving part of a three-year sentence for attempted robbery.
However the Probation Service now require his recall to prison after he breached the terms of his release licence.
In appealing to anyone who may have seen him, Sussex Police have released the above image and given the following description of Rutigliano:
He is described as, “white, 5’9″, of slim build, with dark brown hair and brown eyes”.
Police also want to interview Rutigliano in connection with a series of random assaults that occurred in Brighton city centre streets in the early hours of 26 June, which were publicised by Sussex Police on the same day.
Enquiries continue into these Brighton assaults with Sussex Police stating: “A 21-year old man has been interviewed under caution by appointment and arrangements are being made to interview a third man who has been identified in relation to that investigation.”
Sussex Police are now seeking assistance from the public in trying to trace the whereabouts of Rutigliano, and PC Ian Whitehouse from Sussex Police stated: “If you see Rutigliano, or know where he is, please contact us via 101 or online, quoting serial 578 of 05/07.”
