New Releases: The Week In Music
Stephanie Newton

Another week, another set of new hits to potentially add to your ever-growing playlist. We’re here to bring you the top picks of this week’s new releases.

Singles

Nina Nesbitt – The Moments I’m Missing

Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt has released her first single since last year. Featuring LA R&B singer, Goody Grace, the song has a more mature feel than much of her previous work – It’s also the perfect summer anthem. After being discovered by Ed Sheehan at only 17, Nesbitt has gone from strength  to strength. With this single she showcases her talent, having written and produced it by herself. Look out for her new album next year!

Arcade Fire – Electric Blue

Canadian band, Arcade Fire have had huge success over the years with critically acclaimed album, The Suburbs, shooting them to fame. Since then they’ve released many more eclectic singles with their unique sound. Now their new single Electric Blue has hit the shelves and it’s definitely something worth getting excited about. In a sense the single shares a likeness with their previous hit, Sprawl II, however it’s clear that the band’s sound has progressed.

Albums

WizKid – Sounds From The Other Side

Afrobeat singer, WizKid, rose to fame last year when his guest feature on Drake’s hit single, One Dance, was released. Now he’s released his very own album full of star studded guest features, including: Drake, Major Lazer and Trey Songz. If you’ve been searching for an album for the summer, look no further…

Mura Masa – Mura Masa

Moulsecoomb based musician, Mura Masa is back with his self-titled masterpiece. Featuring many impressive guest features, especially for an up and comer, the album is full of summer bops.

Bugzy Malone – King Of The North

Self-proclaimed king of the north, Bugzy Malone, is back and better than ever. The young Mancunian has been a big name on the UK grime scene in recent years, after a diss-battle with Chip and some impressive fire in the booths, Bugzy’s certainly made a name for himself. Whether you think he’s king of the north or not is down to you…
