Mamma Mia, here we go again! Or not quite, as it is the first time ever the musical is on tour in the UK, featuring all your favourite feel-good songs of the legendary Swedish pop group. From Tuesday, August 15, until Sunday, September 3, ABBA fans in and around Brighton will get the chance to see the world famous Mamma Mia! musical at the Brighton Centre.

Living on a Greek island with her mum, Sophie’s only wish is to find out who her dad is. With her marriage being just around the corner, she makes use of the opportunity and promptly invites her mum’s three ex-lovers to the ceremony, hoping to recognise her father once she looks him in the eyes.

Built around the storytelling songs of ABBA, the musical follows the mother-daughter team on a funny and troubled journey up to the moment when Sophie finally walks down the aisle. But with three possible dads, be ready for some surprises!

Based on the book written by Catherine Johnson and the music and lyrics composed by ABBA members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia! has already been adopted in fifty different productions all over the world and attracted more than 60 million spectators. The Sunday Express has crowned it “the sunniest of all musicals”.

The UK production by Judy Craymer is currently playing in Leeds and will stop in Canterbury and Bournemouth before coming to the Brighton Centre in August. Rebecca Esteves, Revenue and Commerce Manager at the Brighton Centre, said: “We’re really excited to be welcoming such an established show to the Brighton Centre. Having wowed crowds in the West End it’s a great honour to be among the venues that will be featuring it during its UK tour.”

Shows will run at The Brighton Centre from Tuesday, August 15,  until Sunday, September 3, at 7.30 pm.
