Pantomimes and theatre continue to punctuate the Christmas period as a  popular longstanding tradition offering entertainment for all of the family. This year, Brighton and Hove is offering numerous pantomimes and productions to keep you immersed in the festive spirit over December and January.

Peter Pan, the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts 

Enjoy a spell-bounding performance of JM Barrie’s all time classic, Peter Pan, at the Attenborough Centre at the University of Sussex’s campus. Peter Pan and Tinkerbell will take you on a magical journey through Neverland this Christmas, a world with pirates, lost-boys, crocodiles, and Captain Hook’s treacherous ways. 

Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, Friday 14th – Friday 28th December 2018 (except 25th). Tickets are £15, available here. Suitable for all ages. ACCA, Brighton,

Brighton Family Panto returns with Jack and the Beanstalk featuring the legendary Christopher Biggins alongside Shaun Mendum, Molly Scott, and David Rumelle. This brand new production promises vibrant costumes and incredible special effects to tell the tale of Jack and his magic beans. Each ticket permits you with free entry to the Christmas Fayre, with stalls offering food, Christmas gifts, and memorabilia from the show.

Mischief and Mystery in Moomin Valley, The Old Market 

After the success of last year, the Moomins return for another series of shows this Christmas. Taking place in the intimate setting of Tom’s Bar at The Open Market, young audiences will be entranced in the magical pop-up book set, puppetry, and original music in the interactive performance exploring the land of the Moomins!

The Snowman & Peter and The Wolf, Brighton Dome

Brighton Dome after offering a double bill of family classics this Christmas Eve, starting off with Prokofiev’s introduction to the various instruments in the orchestra, narrated by Peter’s crusade to capture the hungry wolf. This is followed by a screening of The Snowman, including a live orchestral performance of Walking in the Air. This event is sure to get the family into the Christmas spirit.

Brighton’s Theatre Royal is offering something a bit different this Christmas as the UK tour of Richard O’Brien’s iconic Rocky Horror Show starts in Brighton TODAY (18th December)! Starring Joanne Clifton, Ben Adams, and legendary comedian, Dom Joly, the whole cast have been working to bring you outstanding musical numbers, such as ‘Time Warp’ and ‘Sweet Transvestite’.

The theatre company, 1927, are back at The Old Market bringing The Animals and Children Took to the Streets over December and January. It tells the story of Agnes Eaves and her daughter arriving in Bayou, a part of the city feared and hated by many. This incredible five-star show (Financial Times) combines performance and storytelling with stunning films and animation from the award-winning company who previously brought you Golem and The Magic Flute
