Parking zone restrictions in Hanover could change from June

Parking zone restrictions in Hanover could change from June

Residents living in the parking zone U could see some changes in time restrictions from Saturday 1 June, should the changes be approved.

The plan, due to be discussed this afternoon, involves restriction times to be extended to 11 hours a day (9AM – 8PM), which is already the case for parking zone C in the Queens Park area.

Currently, anyone wishing to park in the St Luke’s area can do so without permit or ticket from 10AM to 11AM and from 2PM to 3PM (Monday to Saturday).

The proposed change is the result of a petition conducted in 2016, where local residents asked for their parking zone restrictions to be changed.

However not everyone is in favour of these changes, especially the parents of St Luke’s primary school, as the more flexible restrictions allow them to park legally at the end of the school day.

The proposal will be discussed at Hove Town Hall today from 4PM, and it is open to the public.
