Police Appeal After Serious Assault in Royal Pavilion Gardens, Brighton
Sussex Police investigating a serious assault on a man which happened yesterday morning at the Royal Pavilion Gardens in Brighton, are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
The assault is reported to have occurred close to Brighton Museum and Art Gallery located in the Royal Pavilion gardens, 12A Pavilion Parade, Brighton at about 11.55pm on Tuesday 7 August.
The victim, who Police have described as a rough sleeper and who is believed to be in his 50s, as a result of this incident has been taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious head injuries. He is currently in a critical condition.
Sussex Police have said that because of the incident, “the gardens are likely to remain closed for a number of hours as forensics investigations are carried out”, and they have stated that members of the public should “avoid the area.”
The force are asking anyone who may have any information regarding this incident to, “report it online or call 101, quoting Operation Dickenson.”
