Police donate £900 to Brighton food bank
Brighton and Hove City Police have kindly donated £900 for Brighton and Hove City Mission in Stanley Road.
The money came from the Police Property Act Fund, which deals with seizures of property and money. When the police investigate criminal offenses they are given a wide range of powers and can seize property that they think is relevant to an investigation.
They used money from the sale of this found property and the sale of property confiscated by order of the court and then sold, to donate to the food bank.
The money will be used to pay for extra shelving and cold storage in the space. The food bank helps 25 people a day, and not only offers food but also important advice and support.
