Police Seek Two Teenagers in Connection with Hove Burglary
Sussex police have released CCTV images of two teenagers that they suspect to have been involved in a series of burglary incidents in Hove at the end of last month, and are calling for anyone who recognises the two boys to come forward and help the investigation.
During the incidents, which have been described as burglary and attempted burglary, the two boys broke in to Elliot’s Estate Agents on Queen’s Parade at approximately 5.30am on 24th August. From here they stole an iPad mini and a black leather briefcase. Whilst the briefcase was later found dumped, the iPad has not yet been located.
The pair also broke into a flat Wayfield Avenue approximately half an hour later, where they took a laptop and speakers. Later that morning there was a succession of attempted break-ins at other flats nearby, which the police believe were the work of the same two teenagers.
As seen in the released CCTV images, one of the suspects is white and believed to be around 15 years old. He is pictured wearing a dark blue hooded coat with a yellow logo, black trousers with white trainers, and carrying a large backpack. The second suspect, who is also thought to be around 15, with black hair and wearing glasses. He is thought to be wearing a hooded top, dark trousers with a white stripe along the leg and carrying a large satchel.
Detective Constable James Botting, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are linking these burglaries and attempted burglaries which all happened in the same area at a similar time. We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the youths in the CCTV images or has any information about these incidents. Please get in touch.”
