With summer fast approaching, it seems as though everybody is in the mood for a drink. When the sun is out spirits are high, and the only place to be is a beer garden with your friends. With that in mind this weeks pub of the week, The Setting Sun, might just be the perfect place to relax and soak up the rays.
Located at the top of Sussex Street Hill in Hanover, The Setting Sun offers a view that no other pub can compare too. From its patio beer garden you can see the whole of Brighton, and really appreciate where you are. As the name suggests, the best time to go is at sunset when you can watch the sun go down in the distance over the city as you enjoy your drink. No pint will be more deserved as the walk up the hill can take it out of you, however the view is worth the tired legs.
The Setting Sun is a small pub, but it’s friendly bar staff do their absolute best to make the atmosphere as welcoming as possible. Offering a range of drinks including craft ales as well as cocktails there is certainly something for everyone. The food at the Setting Sun is also varied, with different specials each night. It is good value for good food, and perfect for anyone looking to treat themselves. The portions are generous and there are also vegetarian options available. For a small and busy pub, the food is a very high standard. The food ranges from Mexican dishes, to pizza or steak and of course there is a great value roast on a Sunday. And, as it is now the summer months, there is also a BBQ for you to enjoy.
As well as offering different food and drink deals each night, the Setting Sun also hosts quiz nights and live entertainment with their in house piano always in use.
