A man has threatened a shop assistant with a knife in an armed robbery before leaving with the contents of the tills of a convenience store in Hove.

Sussex Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen the incident occurring at the One Stop store on Nevill Road around 9.30pm on Sunday 23rd September.

CCTV images have been released in a bid to gain more information of the identity of the man.

It is believed the man jumped over the counter, threatened the assistant with a blade, and took money from three tills before placing the money into one of the store’s carrier bags.

Police have released a description of the person who has been reported as a white man in their 30s, around 5ft6in tall, and of stocky build.

CCTV image was taken from the Sussex Police website.

The man was seen wearing a black fleece zip-up jacket, khaki green jogging bottoms, black trainers and light blue North Face beanie hat, with his identity obscured by material masking his face.

Sussex Police would like to speak to the man who filmed the robbery on his mobile phone and reportedly left the outside of the shop in a car shortly after the incident occurred.
