Sussex House Fire Treated as Arson With 2 Still Unaccounted For
Police are investigating a suspicious fire which occurred in Eastbourne, East Sussex. It began on Tuesday morning, at around 1.19am, and roared through the night.
It is, as of yet, being treated as a possible case of arson. Police remain at the location because of this, and are looking for further signs. They will not, however, have access to the property for a considerable period. According to Sussex Police, this is because of the “ferocity of the fire and the subsequent damage caused.”
The investigation has not yet yielded a great amount of information, and it remains in its infancy. However, it is known that 3 people are said to have resided at the house. One man in his 30’s suffered burns and is in hospital, but the other 2 are yet to be accounted for, causing serious concern.
They will continue to work with the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, and hope to make some major breakthroughs in the near future.
No more information has currently been made available by Sussex Police.
Police are also appealing to the public for any information they may possess with regards to the fire. They ask that those with information “report it online or call 101, quoting Operation Druffield.”
