The No.1 Spice Girls show is coming to Brighton!

The No.1 Spice Girls show is coming to Brighton!

“WANNABE”, the Spice Girls show, has announced it’ll be coming to Brighton this autumn!  Fresh off the back of a long run at the renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Wannabe is heading our way on its UK wide tour.

The show has been named the number one Spice Girls production worldwide, and will be coming to Brighton’s very own Theatre Royal on Friday 13th September.

The Spice Girls launched their debut single Wannabe back in 1996, which quickly went on to top the charts in 31 countries around the world. The group are now officially the biggest and best-selling girl band of all time, adored and revered all over the world. They have sold 85 million records worldwide, and their fiery attitude has inspired a generation.

The show’s cast will follow The Spice Girls’ glittering careers from their first No.1 to the Spice Girl reunion performance at the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony.

WANNABE is set to turn back the clock by 20 years to when Sporty, Scary, Ginger, Baby and Posh ruled the international pop world. The musical celebration will really take you back to the era of Girl Power. Though who said it ever ended?

The show features the iconic costumes we all know and love, classic dance moves, spectacular visual flair and high production value. Not to mention the singing: the cast will be bringing you unique vocal and musical arrangements of chart topping hits that defined a generation.

Expect to hear your favourite songs including: Wannabe, Viva Forever, 2 Become 1, Who Do You Think You Are, Mama and the Girls’ solo singles – from I Turn To You by Mel ‘Sporty’ C, to the show stopping It’s Raining Men by Geri ‘Ginger’ Halliwell. It’s time to Stop right now and get ready for what promises to be “the biggest 90s party in town”. Nostalgia or what?

Matt Brinkler, WANNABE’s Director, says:

It is the ultimate girls (or boys!) night out whilst still being accessible and family friendly. Many of our younger audience members are being introduced to these iconic songs for the first time. We have written the show with some huge Spice Girls fans – it is for the fans by the fans.

Not quite a Spice Girl reunion, but definitely the second best thing. It’s one not to miss, and Spice Up Your Life like it’s 1996.

Wannabe – The Spice Girls Show @ Theatre Royal Brighton, Friday 13th September. 7.30pm. Tickets from £23. New Rd, Brighton BN1 1SD
