Friday it’s lunch in the street, or had we better say in the garden?

East African or Indian street food, Turkish meze, Asian steamed buns, paella… every Friday from 11 am til 3 pm, Brighton’s most exciting street food traders come together in Brighthelm Garden on Queen’s Road for their so-called Street Diner. With its bustling atmosphere, this independent street food market will make you face the hardest decision in your life! What do you want to eat?

Local, local, local! Food, produce, wine and beer from Sussex!

The biggest food and drink festival in the South of England is back on Hove Lawns this weekend! Treat yourself to hot food samples from Brighton’s restaurants and top up your pantry with the best Sussex producers have to offer. Also while you’re there, think ahead of the next party you’re gonna host. A bottle of wine from the Ridgeview vineyards, a six-pack of beer from The Beer Collective or an exotic summer cocktail from Blackdown Artisan Spirits will surely be a nice change.

And if these Sussex foods aren’t enough to blow your mind away, this year’s selection of Dutch specialties sure will. Craft beers, traditional gins and jenevers, cheeses and sausages from the Netherlands will also be on the menu thanks to a partnership with The Hague Food Festival.

Throughout the weekend, there will be several special events taking place as well. Learn how to make a traditional Sicilian granita or watch top chefs like Matt Gillan showcase their favourite dishes. For a complete listing of the events see here.

The Sussex & The World weekend will be on from Saturday, May 27 til Monday, May 29. Opening hours are from 10 am till 6 pm. Location: Hove Lawns. Free entry.
