Calling all vegans, vegetarians or V-curious people to attend Brighton’s very own Vegan Food Festival. Viva! Vegan Festival takes place on Saturday 29th – Sunday 30th and is a great opportunity to connect with like minded people who care about health and sustainability. Those of you who are curious about how we can create a more sustainable, cruelty-free environment, or if you simply LOVE food, should clear your calendars for next weekend!

Viva! Vegetarians International Voice for Animals

Viva! is an organisation that has been actively campaigning to end the suffering of farmed animals. The festivals encourage people to bring about change to their lifestyle, and offer free nutritional advice. Of course, this is all done whilst offering over 100 stalls of delicious, cruelty-free food stalls!

A common mis-conception is that vegan food “doesn’t taste good”. However, these people are often too quick to judge and have most likely not tried meat or dairy alternatives. Festivals like Viva! encourage non-vegans to try foods and products that are produced ethically, and entirely from naturally sourced materials. Viva! founder and director Juliet Gellatley said: “Interest in veganism has continued to soar globally and shows no signs of slowing down.” Therefore,  Viva!’s vegan festivals are the perfect way to bringing people together whilst showcasing the benefits of a vegan lifestyle.

Brighton Journal asked Viva!: Why is important to hold festivals, instead of simply sharing information online?

“Viva! festivals have helped thousands of people change to a kinder, healthier diet. At our most recent festival in Birmingham, a huge 25% of non-vegans went away saying they are going vegan! This positive feedback shows us just how important our festivals are.”

Tickets are just £5 or £8 for a weekend pass, available on the door. For more information about the festival, see here.

Viva! Vegan Festival, 11am-5pm, Brighton Metropole Hotel, Kings Rd, Brighton, BN1 2FU
