The Christmas lights are up and as the weekend sweeps us into the festive month, Brighton has a variety of things you might want to do this weekend, read our top picks below!
Snailspace Farewell – Friday 30th November
If you haven’t managed to catch a glimpse of these amazing art installations around Brighton, then don’t worry because this weekend Snailspace are holding their very last farewell! Why not slither down to St Augustines Centre Friday, Saturday or Sunday for a peak, open from 10am to 6pm! They ask you to book in for a one hour slot to avoid queues, adult tickets are £6 and childrens £3, with the money raised going to the wonderful Martlets Hospice. The space has been described as having a festive feel with refreshments and snailtastic merchandise on sale!

Understanding the Refugee Crisis – Friday 30th November
It’s a really important cause which is discussed so much in the media at the moment and continuing from the past year or so, the Refugee Crisis is something we are all aware of. However, this evening is offering a little more understanding with short videos, questions and discussion. Hosted by Calais Action, they say they hope to enable us to be more powerful in something which we can actually make a difference. There will be a panel compiled of Professor Mike Collyer, Rowena Gerett, Richard Williams and Professor Sue Clayton. As well as refreshments and a raffel. More information can be found here!

Christmas Disco – Saturday 1st December
Pinch, punch first day… of a very special month, the countdown to Christmas has well and truly begun, treat yourself to opening the first door in your advent calender and head down to the King Alfred Ballroom Suite, for a festive ball. Perfect for a family day out, the event hosted by Dinki Disco has been described as the funky family dance event of the Christmas season! Childrens tickets are £10 and adults are £6 or you can purchase a family ticket for £27 but this price does include everything such as facepainting, a snack bag, a present, hula hooping and give aways. There will also be a bar for any parents in the mood to get a litte merry!

Santa Flights – Saturday 1st Decemeber
Santa’s sleigh isn’t the only thing which can soar above Brighton, you can too! Take a ride in Brighton’s i360 this saturday and be treated to an extra special guest.. Mr. Clause himself. As the pod rises up to 450ft you can spot your chimney in the Brighton skyline and maybe even point it out to Santa, perfect to get your children in the Christmas spirtit and fun for the whole family. Adult tickets are £16.50 and children’s between the ages of 4 and 15 are £10, grab yours here!
British Airways i360, 2.30pm-3pm. The event is set to run every Saturday and Sunday until the 16th December, after which it will be on everyday from Thursday 20th to Monday 24th December!
Vegan Christmas Market – Sunday 2nd December
Christmas isn’t all about the turkey! This amazing event is a sustainable alternative, with vegan food, waste-free, recycled, up-cycled and eco-friendly products. There will be lots to choose from whether you’re browsing, shopping for Christmas gifts or for a treat for yourself, some of the proceeds will go to help Feed the Homeless! Held in Brighton’s Open Market it’s not to be missed!

The Patch Winter Warmer – Sunday 2nd December
An annual event in Birghton, there’s nothing more festive than a lovely warm campfire and a glass of mulled wine or cider! It’s a volunteer-run community event and more details of how you can get involved or help out can be found through their facebook page here! So wrap up warm in a scraf and gloves and head down to William Clarke Park for a lovely winter Sunday afternoon of games, Live music, lantern decorating and food! It’s completely free and you will only need money for refreshments, a great festive event bringing the community together!
