The colder weather is starting to creep in around Brighton and Hove so why not try something comforting and warming this weekend? Although we are only in November, there are a couple of Christmas events to look forward to, along with dedications to Remembrance Sunday.

Opening of Thor’s Tipi Bar – Friday 9th November

A brand new pop up bar is opening this Friday to start your weekend with a mash-up Christmas themed experience. In Jubilee Square, customers can embrace the Viking hygge with mulled wine, hot chocolate, and a cosy log fire. Soak up the experience that is perfect for all the family for when you need a break from Christmas shopping.

Billy Bishop Goes to War ©

Billy Bishop Goes to War – Friday 9th November

Presented on the centenary weekend of the end of World War I, Billy Bishop Goes to War is the perfect dedication of remembrance. Inspired by the true exploits of WWI Flying Ace William Avery “Billy” Bishop, this play tells the story of an unlikely hero who the most decorated officer of the Royal Canadian Flying Corps in the First World War.

Morning Jam: Inclusive Dance Party – Saturday 10th November

ONCA and Morning Jam invite you to a morning of letting loose and dancing. Retro dance music will be played and refreshments provided for this experiment of movement, play, and creating safe spaces for connecting with others. In partnership with Deaf facilitator Louise Lily Gibson, this event is specially curated to be inclusive for D/deaf people and BSL users.

Brighton Dome and World War One – Saturday 10th November

Join Brighton Dome in commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War with a free event this Saturday. You are invited to learn more about the soldiers of WWI and how the Royal Pavillon played a vital role as a temporary military hospital. You will also be able to explore backstage of Brighton Dome! Pre-booking is advised for this event.

The Fairy Tale Fair, Christmas Craft & Design Fair – Saturday 10th – Sunday 11th November

Christmas is kicking off early at the Old Market with the return of the Christmas Craft and Design Fair. After last year’s success, The Fairy Tale Fair is bringing 45 of the best stalls from local designers and crafters for you to choose from. There’s also homemade treats, face painting, and live performances suitable for all the family.

Brighton Record Fair – Sunday 11th November

Brighton Record Fair is back in Komedia with record dealers there to provide you with all of your favourites singles and LPs. A vast sea of genres will be available to flick through and take home with you. This vinyl fair has free entry but make sure you bring cash if you’re keen to purchase any vinyls.
