You may not know her name but Anne Martin is one of the biggest dogs in Brighton when it comes to tourist attractions. Working as the managing director of the popular seaside attraction, Brighton Palace Pier, for the past eleven years, Martin has just been promoted. This move makes her part of the elite group of female CEOs currently working in the UK.
The post of chief executive officer of Palace Pier has been newly created for Martin herself. As for her experience in the industry, Mrs Martin has 25 years in the hospitality sector under her belt, with previous work including Bourne Leisure and Forte PLC.
Surprisingly in 2017 less than 10% of bosses at the UK’s largest firms are women.
Anne Martin will take up her post with immediate effect on the 26th June.
