Children of Brighton and Hove are being called on to design the 2018 Brighton Fringe Family Guide cover.
Brighton’s acclaimed arts festival, which takes place next May, is sending out the challenge to all children under 11 who fancy giving this competition a go and showcasing their creative talents.
Applicants are asked to design an original piece of A4 cover art inspired by the tagline of the next iteration of the festival; ‘Set Yourself Free’.
The lucky winner will see their work in the viewed by, and in the hands of, owners of the 80,000 Fringe Family Guides to be printed, and will also receive a gift voucher worth £200 to spend on tickets at the Brighton Fringe! The winner will also receive a Gold Friends membership which entitles the holder 2 for 1 offers on events.
Managing director of the Brighton Fringe Julian Caddy wanted to remind applicants of the tone of the competition, and the theme of the cover art being called for:
“Life is full of people always telling you what to do, following rules and traditions. Imagine being free to be who or what you want to be. Brighton Fringe is all about the freedom to create, so have fun with it and you never know where it will lead you!”
Three runners-up will also be in for a prize, winning two tickets to a children’s show of their choice at next years Brighton Fringe.
The closing date for entries is Wednesday, December 20. Entrants should include their name, age, school, and parent or guardian’s email on the back of the picture and send the A4 artwork to: ‘Set Yourself Free’ Competition, Brighton Fringe Ltd, Brighton MET, Pelham Street, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 4FA
