Flower Crowns, Free Cider And A Touch Of Swedish Summer At Jubilee Square!
Strawberry & lime, wild berries, passion fruit, and mango & raspberry. Those were the four different flavours cider fans could try on Saturday afternoon. From noon onwards, the red Rekorderlig roadshow van opened its windows at Jubilee Square, giving out free samples of cider.
Although they had only been there for an hour, the space in front of the van with the little flower decorated tables and bright orange deck chairs was quite busy with people queuing to get their sample or relaxing in the chairs while sipping on their already half-empty plastic cups.
Chatting to her friend, Lisa had already finished her cup of the mango raspberry one. “It was really nice. Really really sweet which I like. Normally I prefer still cider but I did like this one although it is fizzy”, she said.
On the table next to her, Arthur was just about to take his first sip. He had opted for the wild berries one and was also positively surprised. “I usually don’t drink cider but this one is really nice. I like the wild berries in there.”
Wild berries, little pieces of lime or passion fruit, or some raspberries… the samples came with a bit of fruit in them, a nice little extra to create a summer feeling.
“So far, we’ve had a really positive response. People like the idea of mixing the fruits in with the ciders to create more of a summer theme”, event manager Andrew explained. The van has already been touring through the UK for three weeks with stops in London, the Midlands, and the Southcoast. The stop in Brighton definitely was a nice surprise for people walking past it on Saturday.
