Unseasonably warm weather is set to hit Brighton and Hove next week.
The MET office says a blast of ‘Caribbean’ air will hit the UK early next week, sending temperatures in Brighton skyrocketing to 13 degrees next Monday.
Some places in the UK, including the East of England, could see highs of 16 or 17 degrees. This is double the average of 8C for this time of year.
It’s likely that some parts of the country will be warmer than Barcelona and Athens.
The sad news is temperatures will likely return to normal levels by the middle of the week, so don’t get your flip-flops and shades out of storage just yet.
A spokesman for the MET office said Britain doesn’t come into spring until 1 March.
