Sources say that the cancellation of the concert and the disappearance of the group's website and social accounts led many fans to worry about the separation, but this fear is unfounded.
Parramore is a free agent. Sources say this, not the band's breakup, is the reason most of the group's online presence was suddenly wiped out. diverse.
The band's long-time website, paramore.netIt now leads to a “404 Not Found” message, which has many fans of the group concerned. Not because of division. Sources say the site was taken down the day the group's 20-year deal with Atlantic Records expired.
Along with the website being down, most of Paramore's social media accounts were also wiped out. The group's Twitter and Instagram pages — which have 5.3 million and 3.5 million followers, respectively — show no posts, and its Threads account appears to have been deleted; Only the group's Facebook account still includes the archived posts as of this writing.
The only thing left on Paramore's Instagram account is a “story” apologizing for canceling a headline appearance at iHeart's upcoming AlterEgo concert in Southern California. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Paramore can no longer attend and perform at the iHeartRadio ALTer EGO on January 13,” the statement read. “The band apologizes for any inconvenience.” (Fall Out Boy was announced Thursday as a headline act on iHeart's multi-artist showcase.)
The cancellation added to the dismay of fans who wondered if it was a sign of a breakup after the social media sudden disappearance. But sources say the cancellation was actually a case of scheduling conflicts for the main participants.
Paramore has a busy year of touring ahead, mostly on Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Europe. The group joins Swift for her first European date on May 9 in Paris, then stays on the tour for more than three months, until the European finale on August 20 in London. (Gracie Abrams will then join Swift as the opener for the final round of North American dates in November and December.)
Before joining the Eras tour, Paramore had a few festival dates scheduled in Central and South America in March.
Speculation that Paramore was breaking up and would leave an empty slot on the Eras tour was so rampant in the past 24 hours that Swift's fans immediately began speculating who might fill the band's slot on the three-month European tour.
A sort of conspiracy theory has been formed around Maisie Peters as a potential Euro opener for Swift. A print profile of Peters in Rolling Stone's December UK edition even stated: “It's no surprise, then, that she's been selected as a support act for Swift's 'Eras' European tour next year.” But that sentence was removed from the web version of the story, leading Swifties to speculate: What did Rolling Stone know about Paramore and when did they know it?
Peters herself Clear that Friday morning in a post on X (formerly Twitter): It's no On the Eras tour – instead of Paramore or anyone else. “Girls, I'm afraid that while I hope to scream very well at Wembley this summer, the screams will be shouted from the stands!” The young star posted. “I'm not the opening act for the Tour of Ages! Unfortunately rumors are just rumours!:
Paramore's contract with Atlantic has been a source of some public confusion over the years, since Hayley Williams was recruited as a solo artist, and her signing with the label predates what some accounts of the band's history cite as the formation of the band.
Atlantic's contract was actually a one-man deal with Williams, who in 2003 was signed to the much-vaunted “360 deal” in which artists shared not only revenue from their album sales, but concerts, merchandise and other profits with their label in exchange for an ostensible exchange. Greater comprehensive functional support. However, the nature of the deal caused a rift within the band and was cited as the reason for the departure of brothers Zac and Josh Farro in 2010. Zac Farro rejoined in 2017; Along with Williams, he and guitarist Taylor York, who joined in 2009, are the current official members of the band.
In a long-deleted blog post, Josh Farrow wrote in 2010: “After many meetings between Hailey, her manager and the labels, they decided to sign her to Atlantic Records. We did not understand why Hailey was the only one to sign the contract as we were told that this was her.” Band”, but we were too young to understand all this. … The whole time we were still wondering whether we were a real band or not, but Hailey kept insisting that we were, despite us being ignored and pressured by the label.
Paramore's latest album, “This Is Why,” was released just 11 months ago, on February 10, to great acclaim, and in recent weeks has appeared on several best-of-2023 lists. (The album's track “News” is featured.) diverse2023 Top Songs List.) After Paramore appeared on several of Swift's Eras Tour dates in the US last spring and summer, the group wrapped up its 2023 tour with a set of headlining shows in Australia at the end of November.
