Starfield Director Todd Howard talked a little more about what RPG fans can expect from the upcoming Shattered Space DLC, and it looks promising for those who enjoyed Fallout 4’s Far Harbor expansion.
Speaking in an interview with MrMattyPlays on YouTube (below), Howard confirmed that the “bulk” of the Shattered Space expansion will take place within the new area created for the DLC. He explains that this allowed Bethesda to take a more traditional approach to its development.
“It allows us to build a landscape as we traditionally do, and have the city and the quest,” he says. “And so, this story takes place there, and the landscape is kind of…content-wise, we’re looking at what we did with Far Harbor in Fallout 4, where, well, that’s the scope where development fits us in doing this kind of annual story expansion “
Howard says he’s “really excited” about the DLC, and says the approach Bethesda has taken “allows us to kind of do some things the way we’ve done them in previous games.” “It’s still Starfield,” he explains, so you won’t feel the experience completely Like the studio’s earlier releases, but ultimately it should provide a new space world for eager astronauts to get lost in.
